Cymap Electrical

Cymap’s comprehensive suite of HV/LV electrical software allows engineers to produce designs quickly and easily. The wiring suite offers engineers the full range of calculations associated with high and low voltage design.

Data can be entered in a schematic format or - uniquely - using a scale drawing. Our wiring calculations link with the lighting package, which uses the radiosity based method of calculating the illumination of 3-dimensional spaces.

Cymap is renowned for ease of use, so whether you are a consultant, contractor, or part of a facilities management team, Cymap is the software for you. There are also three minor electrical programs:

Cymap Mechanical

Cymap Mechanical is one part of our integrated suite of Building Services calculation programs. Working on its own, or in conjunction with our Psychometrics and electrical design software, Cymap Mechanical provides engineers with the tools to perform both routine and complex calculations quickly and easily.
Our mechanical software allows detailed analysis of all energy calculations associated with buildings such as heat loss, heat gain, energy consumption, Part L compliance, interface with SBEM/SAP and plant modelling. The engineer can then design pipe and duct work services using our unique and friendly sketching technique with fully rendered 3D views just a few clicks away. 
Cymap Mechanical incorporates three major calculation standards; CIBSE, ASHRAE and DIN, so wherever engineers are working, you can be sure Cymap provides the calculations needed. There are also five minor mechanical programs which can be run individually:

Cymap is fully compatible with versions of Windows up to and including Windows 10 in 32bit and 64bit modes.

Cymap, is a comprehensive graphically-based product comprising a series of co-operating modules that can either be used together or individually. 

Cymap covers heating & cooling load calculations, energy consumption, pipe and ductwork analysis, psychrometrics, public health, wiring and lighting design.

Cymap Mechanical – Cymap Mechanical is one part of our integrated suite of Building Services calculation programs. Working on its own, or in conjunction with our Psychometrics and electrical design software, Cymap Mechanical provides engineers with the tools to perform both routine and complex calculations quickly and easily.

    Our Mechanical software allows detailed analysis of all energy calculations associated with buildings such as space or zonal heat loss, cooling loads, energy consumption, interface with SBEM/SAP and plant modelling. The engineer can then design LPHW /chilled water pipe runs to ascertain pipe and pump sizing to all engineering standards. Plumbing and gas services  to all standards can also be routed using the same techniques. Ductwork systems can be designed and routed on the model to determine all index run pressure drops to enable fan sizing using our unique and friendly sketching technique with fully rendered 3D views just a few clicks away. Cymap also forms part of the solution of Cadline’s products to realise BIM level 2 workflows.

    BUILDING & ENERGY PROGRAMS- Enables the user to set up the building model either by introducing 2D floorplans and defining the room spaces manually, or import 3D gbXML geometry from Revit or other 3D building modelling software. This program also includes an extensive database of building constructions, that can be edited or added to based on full U value calculations to BS6946. Engineering profiles can be added either from a database of NCM derived profiles, created, or imported from other previously engineered projects. Full shading calculations can be performed based on the building footprint and or other buildings surrounding the “target” building. Moving forward this then forms the basis of the development of the mechanical services within the building with full interoperability and consequential change filtering across the suite of programs. Simultaneous and or zonal Heat gains and losses can be derived using CIBSE steady state methodologies. Full linking with TAS dynamic simulation software enables importation of results if there is a requirement to do so. Export links to iSBEM is also included.

    PIPING PROGRAMS- Enable the user to design and quantify LPHW/MTHW heating, chilled water, hot cold and gas services to current design standards including BSEN 806, BS6700, CIPHE and CIBSE demand methodologies. Simply sketch routing on the building model enables the user to establish the routes and subsequent sizing, pressure drop and quantity take-offs on a system by system basis. Valve and plant libraries provide symbolic representation along with technical data used mechanically and electrically.

    DUCTWORK PROGRAM- Enables users to derive and size supply and extract ductwork runouts on floorplans with all pressure drop calculations and bills of quantities included. Various duct fittings can be applied along with acoustic ductwork/fan noise calculations. Extensive databases of different shapes and sizes of ductwork to DW/144 are used with the ability to fix all ductwork attributes if necessary.

    PSYCHROMETRICS PROGRAM – Full psychrometric analysis of either proscribed systems or systems built up from a symbol library by the engineer enable detailed analysis of each part of the Psychrometric cycle. This allows the engineer to look at “free cooling” or heat recovery, values of which can be input into the Energy program to size local plant.

    DATABASES – All manufacturers databases have been provided and are open source to enable the user to add or edit their manufacturer libraries

      Cymap Electrical is a fully 17th edition amendment 3 calculation tool that allows users to work independently or plug into the BIM level 2 process.

      Various workflows can be applied whether as an individual contributing to a design or as part of an integrated team working towards BIM level 2 and beyond

        Wiring

        A Wiring schematic can be created independently of any building modelling with unlimited number of boards with multiple supply analysis included as part of the design ethos.
        >If the workflow is such, distribution boards can be imported from the floorplan based Electrics program to either populate the schematic with boards that can be cabled up, or as a complete schematic if boards are linked in the electrics program. As changes are made to the building model, boards can be updated to reflect the amendments. Full earth loop and short circuit discrimination calculations are standard, based on an extensive range of editable manufacturers switchgear with an export to a simple circuit by circuit discrimination analysis package, if required. All cable sizing analysis engineers require can be undertaken easily and quickly on the schematic with fault diagnosis easily manageable for fault rectification.

         

        Electrics

        The Cymap Electrics enables users, within the building environment , to connect up existing light fittings from the lighting program via a symbol library, to populate distribution boards switch circuit loads and cable lengths. Boards can be connected up to then enable the automatic creation of schematic layouts for further cable analysis in the Wiring program mentioned above. 2D drawings can be exported to standard 2D CAD to produce layouts. Fire alarm audibility and Part L lighting controls also feature.

         Lighting

        The Cymap lighting program can be utilised for single room, external floodlighting or building model based lighting analysis whether daylighting, artificial lighting  or emergency lighting is the requirement.

        The building model can be created by importing Revit and other 3D models, or the user can model the building separately in the absence of any 3D interfacing.

        The lighting design tool complies with LG7 Part L2 and LENI enabling efficient design important to meet today’s sustainability needs.

        Industry standard photometry can be uploaded to enable manufacturers fittings to be utilised.

        If required light fittings can be exported to Revit for further co ordination or analysis as part of the BIM process

        CADLINE BIM SOLUTION

        Depending on the project and workflow requirements Cymap can be utilised either inside or outside the BIM level 2 workflow. Basic 2D requirements can still be met utilising traditional non BIM workflows. To meet the demands of BIM level 2 and collaborative projects these workflows can also be utilised.
