This course is designed for new users of AutoCAD Electrical.
Previous basic knowledge of computers and AutoCAD is required. The course is aimed at Electrical Engineers who have good understanding of the electrical design process.
Objectives
This quick start day is intended to automate your design process whether the requirement is to automatically produce PLC or loop diagrams from spreadsheet data or to automate annotation of your design rules, wire sizing and manufacturer/part assignment into your designs.

Setup PLC Automation
- Create drawings automatically from spreadsheet
- Create a spreadsheet template from drawing to drive multiple drawings
- Loop diagrams
Interface AutoCAD Electrical with the PLC software (dependent upon PLC software)
- Export and import I/O data from AutoCAD Electrical to PLC program software
Exporting data to spreadsheets:
- Saving design rules, cable & wire sizing, manufacturer and part information in spreadsheet of common circuit types
- To facilitate the ability to update the drawings from spreadsheet
- Updating a drawing or project from spreadsheet
- Be able to modify multiple drawings with revised part number information or tag information as an example without editing a drawing
Updating spreadsheet data into drawings
- Updating a drawing or project with design rules, cable & wire sizing, manufacturer and part information from a spreadsheet of common circuit types
- Updating a drawing or project from spreadsheet
Importing parts from Excel into the parts database
- Automate the import of you company’s standard parts
Script Writing
- Run multiple commands on your entire set of project drawings
