This course is designed for new users of AutoCAD Electrical.

Previous basic knowledge of computers and AutoCAD is required. The course is aimed at Electrical Engineers who have good understanding of the electrical design process.

Objectives

This quick start day is intended to gain better documentation out of your design process quicker whether it be wiring diagrams, panel footprint drawings, general assembly’s or the automation of the project documentation.

      • Creation of an Automatic Report grouping file – you can combine several format SET files and save them as a group. You can use the group later to generate multiple reports automatically in a single command operation
      • Producing a Combined Schematic/Panel Bill of Materials with item numbers

      • Changing the Preferred Manufacturers Within Parts Selection
      •  Defining Your Own Internal Stock Number within The Parts Database/Reports
      • User Definable Attributes Within Reports

    Automatic Terminal Rail Generation

        • You can create all your terminal information in table format automatically in a single command operation

    Panel Layouts

        • Assigning footprint blocks - Editing the footprint Database
        • Defining Panel drawing settings
        • Configuring balloons
        • Assigning item numbers and inserting balloons
        • Annotating a panel layout
        • Changing the Attribute Text Height on Multiple Objects
        • Editing the footprint Database
    Reverse Engineering
        • Creating a panel layout prior to a schematic
        • Creating a terminal rail prior to a schematic

      Wiring diagrams

          • Adding wire data to footprints
          • Defining Wire Connection Order
          • Discussing and selecting the correct wire connection annotation formats
          • Annotating wire from/to information into panel footprints or traditional symbolic wiring diagrams
          • Creation of Cable Diagrams
