Description

Autodesk Upchain is a cloud-based PLM tool to enable ongoing management and control of CAD and associated design data.

The Upchain Virtual QuickStart is designed to deliver a pre-configured environment and the skills system administrators and users will need to work with Autodesk Upchain in a short period of time. This can be delivered to a maximum of 10 CAD users, for additional users you can add a training module as detailed below.

Upchain is cloud-based SaaS environment hence no actual on premise or cloud hosted server is needed. As part of the QuickStart your unique tenant will be provided and configured. Access to the tenant is provided via the dedicated software plugins or web URL.

Upchain Subscriptions

Autodesk Upchain is provided as an additional subscription to your design tools.

There are four different Upchain subscriptions available. Professional, Team, Participant and Viewer. To create a live tenant, you will need a min of one Upchain Professional subscription. All subscriptions are provided on a permission based and named user basis so all users will require one of the available subscription types to access Upchain. Example: If you have 5 x CAD users you will require 5 x  Upchain Professional Subscriptions.

Professional - for tenant administrators, project managers, engineers, and CAD power users

  • Define and create business processes, templates, and business rules
  • Define and manage engineering changes and processes
  • Integrate into every major CAD system to create and manage BOMs
  • Create and manage projects, project documentation, and project activities

Team - for project managers, contributors, and feedback-givers

  • Access to Microsoft Office and Outlook plugins to manage BOMs and project documentation
  • View 3D CAD and drawings, and create markups
  • Create business processes and project activities
  • Create and manage projects

Participant - for information seekers and project participants

  • View complete BOM data in the Web application
  • View 3D CAD and drawings, and create markups
  • Create business processes and project activities
  • View project documentation in the Web application

Viewer - for project followers and external participants

  • View released CAD files and drawings
  • View business processes, dashboards, and team resources
  • Participate in workflows
  • View published project documents

Please note: You may want to consider the automatic integration of your released BOM’s to your ERP or Financial Systems. This is often possible and required a 60 mins call with our integration team who will provide an initial high-level SOW and estimated project costs
